Tutorial
Curved Border

Using the same images from the Dazzling Darling wall, I opened up the Photoshop file and dragged the images using the move tool across onto the layout piece which is sized w: 915 h: 600, and the background painted black.

Now, using the rectangular marquee tool (creating a new layer) and used the tool to create a reasonable sized box on the piece.

Then, I went to:
...... >>> Select >>> Modify >>> Border
- A small box should come up and here you place a number which determines the size of your border
- I chose 8 and then clicked ok

Now, you should see your border with curved edges but the border needs to be filled in in order to be seen, so therefore I used the brush tool and selected the colour white (FFFFFF) using the colour picker. I then painted in the selected area using the brush.

And there you have it! :)

But, if your like me who wanted to use the border as part of a layout, then please read on:

--------------------------------

As the border has a bottom which I don't need, I then clicked on the rectangular marquee tool once more, and this time covered the bottom part of the border which I did not need and then hit delete - This removes the bottom of the border from the piece.

As the curves at the bottom of each side of the border still remain, I used the paint tool (using the white FFFFFF and black 000000 colours appropriately) to rectify this.

I then clicked on (F) and went to stroke and set it at: 1px, normal, outside, 100 transparency. I then clicked  back on the rectangular marquee tool and deselected the border area.

After that, I added some text:
